OUR DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN
Have you got a project in mind?
Our full-door ligature alarm turns the entire door into a weighing scale, designed to alert the clinical staff when a ligature is attempted on any part of the door - not just the top, making this the world's first and only full-door ligature alarm.
Doors still pose the highest risk for suicides within inpatient mental health environments, with 49% of suicides in mental health occurring using the door or door hardware.
When designing our complete doorset solution for Mental Health spaces, we knew from clinical feedback that ligature risk evolves and mental health products need to be able to reduce future risks as well as those already known. That's why we developed a door alarm sensor that covers the entire door surface and comes with a live status monitoring system giving clinicians that extra piece of mind when protecting patients at vulnerable times.

Door-top ligature alarms are no longer enough to protect the patient's in Mental Health environments. With a built-in sensor, the full-door ligature alarm detects vertical loads of over 5 kg applied to any part of the door in both opened and closed positions.
When researching the full-door alarm, you told us that anti-ligature door top alarms only address one high-risk ligature point, and patients will be able to identify the next ligature point on the door.
The recent safety alert made this theory a tragic reality as it reported that a patient had taken their own life by creating a ligature on the latch of their bedroom door. Unfortunately, this was not detected by the door-top alarm installed on the door.
We design for good to help protect people through vulnerable times.
Mental Health clinical staff isn't able to be everywhere at once. The full-door ligature alarm immediately sends an alert to the nearest nursing station when a ligature is attempted - helping to fill in blind spots between observations.
You told us that false alarms with existing door alarms on top of the door systems were standard, affecting the level of trust between patients and clinical staff. So we developed a system that intelligently filters out false alarms.
From specification to ongoing aftercare, the wireless system is managed by Hipac - our trusted partner, reducing the number of tradespeople involved and giving you confidence that it's installed by people with extensive experience working on mental health projects.
Along with reduced tradespeople and greater accountability, the fully wireless alarm system has minimal infrastructure - causing less disruption to inpatient treatment.
Once installed, the alarm is completely invisible when patients are in their room with the door closed. Helping to create a safe, therapeutic environment that facilitates recovery.

For increased peace of mind, we've also developed a live status monitoring system that allows estates, maintenance, and clinical teams to monitor all doors where the alarm is installed quickly.
